Author: The Savvy Solopreneur
Starting with nothing but my 14-year old laptop, budget smartphone, and a 100 dollars to pay for subscriptions and web hosting. I am going to find a way to make a modest living doing what I enjoy- learning new skills, writing and sharing, and creating things that are useful. I will be focused on developing plugins for WordPress. I aim to enable website operators to offer their customers the same functionality and features as popular mobile apps. My solutions will lack the steep subscription costs or intrusive privacy permission. I am going to take a different route for monetization with my products. Everything will be open source and free to distribute. However, for support, tutorials, and the latest patches, updates, and upgraded versions, you'll have to subscribe to my Patreon. I'm looking forward to developing this website with a build-in-public architecture. I want to facilitate people watching their favorite solopreneurs work live. I am going to implement transparent workspaces so that fans, customers, or prospective clients, can see the work that members put into their services and products. I do also enjoy co-working sessions, so I will incorporate a global co-working system into the site. I will integrate it with the transparent workspaces. It will feature a clock-synced Pomodoro timer with a toggle between 25/5 and 50/10. The timer will always be in the corner of the viewport and can be toggled to give audible tones for session changes. I plan to add check-in and check-out functions to the co-working system, with a list of who's currently working, and popup notifications whenever someone sits down to work or completes a task. I will prototype the transparent workspace first, using existing plugins, and tweak the setup with input from visitors. When I am satisfied, I will build a standalone plugin for the system. More is planned. I hope you will check back or join our site newsletter to keep up to date with the site's development.
